In Ghaziabad, a 35-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for the alleged murder of a 70-year-old woman after a dispute with her son in Madhuban Bapudham. According to authorities, the victim's son, Bijendra Kumar, had a disagreement with the suspect, Majid, who lived nearby. The woman, identified as Ramvati Devi, intervened to protect her son. During the confrontation, Majid reportedly pushed Ramvati, causing her to fall and sustain fatal injuries. ACP Abhishek Srivastava stated that Bijendra resided with his family in LIG flats under the Kanshiram Avas Yojna in Madhuban Bapudham. The incident occurred around 12:30 am when Majid, an e-rickshaw driver allegedly intoxicated, was seated outside the Kumar residence. When Bijendra questioned him, an argument ensued, prompting Ramvati to intervene. Following the altercation, Ramvati was injured and subsequently passed away in the hospital. Her body underwent a post-mortem examination, and an FIR has been registered at Madhuban Bapudham police station. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody after appearing in court.
